If you are concerned about Testicular Cancer be sure to follow this routine regularly.

4 Steps to Check Your Testicles

You should perform these steps every month; it may be easier after a bath or shower as the scrotal skin relaxes.

1. Feel for any changes in the size, shape or weight - if found get to your Doctor's.

2. Support the scrotum in the palm of your hand, don't be embarrassed, become familiar with the size, and feel the weight of each testicle.

3. Examine each testicle, by rolling it between your finger and thumb, press gently feeling for any lumps, swelling or any changes in firmness.

4. Remember each testicle has an epidermis at the top, which carries the sperm to the penis. DON'T panic if you feel this - it's normal.

IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE SYMPTONS BELOW SEE YOUR DOCTOR.

  • Any enlargement of a testicle.
  • A lump in either testicle.
  • A feeling of heaviness in the scrotum.
  • A dull ache in the abdomen or groin.
  • A sudden collection of fluid in the scrotum.
  • Enlargement or tenderness of the breasts.

Testicular cancer normally presents itself as a lump in the testicle.
Regular examination of the testicle can, in most instances, detect testicular cancer at an early stage BUT neglect can lead to presentation with advanced cancer.
Most patients cured of testicular cancer have no long-term side effects from treatment.

Remember never be afraid to ask. There is always someone there. Go to your doctor. The quicker it's checked the better. It could save your life.
