Little Friend - by Jemima Stacey

Hello my little friend, what are you doing here?
Its cold and its windy, why aren't you at home?
Your little wings so pretty but so delicate its true,
Could get caught in the weather, there’d be nothing you could do.
I know you're here to protect and keep an eye on me.
But it's better if you fly on home and live so you can be
A very special messenger between two different worlds
And tell my friends and family in that secret other place
That I love them and I miss them every hour of the day.
Now fly away blessed creature before you lose your way.
Be careful of all dangers that prevent you from your home,
And come back and visit so that I can see you soon.

My Little Butterfly - by Diane Martin

A little mouse disturbs the leaves
My memories are released
I wish I could paint a picture
Of the friend I had to leave

Butterfly, Butterfly flying by
Say hello to a friend
A very special friend in heaven
A hug and a kiss I send

Each time I see a butterfly
I wished I'd said goodbye
Oh butterfly, Oh butterfly
Say hello to that friend of mine

So pretty little butterfly
As you are fluttering by
Take my message up to heaven
And give it to the angels
As they go gently by.
